Several teenage girls are in trouble after allegedly assaulting a 16-year-old girl on Cavill Ave in Surfers Paradise. The incident, described by police as disturbing and confronting, involved a group of eight juvenile females attacking the victim by punching and kicking her to the ground.

The victim, known to some of the girls involved, sustained facial injuries and had to be treated at Gold Coast University Hospital before being released. The assault was recorded on video and circulated on social media, prompting police action to investigate further and remove the footage from online platforms.

Gold Coast Detective Inspector Paul Fletcher stated that charges will likely be brought against the suspects, who are aged between 12 and 16 years old. The victim’s father expressed anger and a call for justice, emphasizing the need for consequences to prevent such incidents from recurring.
