Police on routine patrol in Lyneham, a suburb of Canberra, discovered a woman naked and screaming on the street. She claimed she had been held against her will in a nearby home, sexually assaulted, and confined for several days. A 44-year-old man has been arrested and charged with forcible confinement, rape, assault, and failing to appear.
The suspect appeared in court and was remanded in custody pending further legal proceedings. Police indicated that the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed.
