A 32-year-old woman is facing charges of animal cruelty after allegedly throwing a dog off a cliff located south of Sydney. The distressing incident came to light when a bushwalker heard the dog yelping and discovered it inside a kennel at the base of an escarpment. Despite efforts made to rescue the injured Australian Bulldog, the severity of its condition led to the difficult decision of euthanasia.

Following a thorough investigation that spanned over a year, police arrested the woman at her residence in Wollongong. It is alleged that the kennel, which was found tipped upside down at the base of the cliff, was thrown there during the night on January 22, 2023. The woman is set to appear in the Wollongong Local Court in May to face charges related to this act of animal cruelty.

This disturbing incident serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible pet ownership and the severe consequences of neglect and abuse towards animals. Authorities are committed to pursuing justice in cases of animal cruelty and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.
