Three pedestrians were left seriously injured, with two in critical condition, following a hit-and-run near a popular beach reserve in Darwin. The incident occurred on Trower Road in Brinkin, prompting an investigation by the Northern Territory police.

Authorities have identified a light-colored van as a potential “vehicle of interest” and are appealing for witnesses to provide any information or CCTV footage that could aid the investigation. Police are focusing on the period between 1 am and 4 am and are requesting cooperation from residents with street-facing CCTV in Brinkin, Nakara, and Tiwi.

Assistant Commissioner Matthew Hollamby emphasized the need for the driver responsible to come forward, highlighting the severity of leaving the scene of the crash. This incident adds to the concerning number of road fatalities in the Northern Territory this year, emphasizing the urgent need for road safety awareness and responsible driving practices.
