A legal dispute has arisen between TV broadcaster Lisa Wilkinson and Channel 10, revolving around $2 million in legal costs for separate representation in a defamation trial involving Bruce Lehrmann. The conflict stems from Wilkinson’s decision to hire a distinct legal team for the trial, leading to disagreements over indemnification of costs.

The ongoing legal wrangling includes arguments over the reasonableness of the incurred costs and concerns about potential duplication in legal representation. While Channel 10’s costs in the case have reached around $4 million, Lisa Wilkinson’s legal fees have amounted to $2 million.

The matter is scheduled to return to the Federal Court on May 1 for further proceedings, as both parties continue to navigate the complexities of the legal battle surrounding the defamation trial.
