In a high-profile case, Wallabies star Kurtley Beale has been cleared of allegations of sexual assault following a trial at Sydney’s Downing Centre Court. The jury ruled that the encounters in question were consensual, rejecting the woman’s accusations.

Beale’s defense team pointed out inconsistencies in the woman’s statements and relied on a recorded phone call where she initially claimed lack of consent but later admitted to a misunderstanding. This pivotal evidence supported Beale’s stance that the interaction was consensual.

During the trial, CCTV footage was presented, showing the interactions between Beale and the woman in the bar’s bathroom stall. The footage played a crucial role in shedding light on the events of that night.

The verdict brings an end to a year-long legal battle for Beale, who had been under arrest since January 2023. This conclusion marks a significant moment for him, clearing his name after a challenging legal ordeal.
